In 2008, Elena Kornaeva earned a degree in Engineering Mathematics with a specialization in "Applied Mathematics" from the National University of Science and Technology MISIS (MISIS). She defended her Candidate of Sciences dissertation in 2011 and was awarded the academic title of Docent by the Higher Attestation Commission in 2023, both in the specialty "Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods, and Software Packages". Her academic career began in 2008, while she held the positions of Assistant, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Professor. Since January 2025, she has been continuing her work at the Innopolis University, holding a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor and Senior Research Fellow. Elena's research interests lie in the field of mathematical modeling, with a specific focus on viscous fluid flow in natural and artificial channels. In her work, she combines modern numerical methods with advanced machine learning approaches, including the promising field of Physics-Based Machine Learning. She has experience leading small research teams on grant-funded projects, including those supported by the Russian Science Foundation (RSF). She is the author of more than 140 scientific publications, which include over 30 articles in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, as well as more than 25 software certificates of registration and Russian patents. To further her expertise, she has completed professional development courses in "Machine Learning" (National Research University Higher School of Economics, 2020) and "Data Science" (Sberbank Corporate University, 2024).
